“After working with SAQ, my housing association decided to take my complaint seriously and have now fixed the problem that has been causing me considerable health problems for the last two years.”
We were approached by a tenant at a social housing property who was concerned about the damp and mould in his home. He had contacted the council and housing association relentlessly regarding the problem, to no avail. On surveying the premises, we found unacceptably high humidity and the presence of stachybotrys chartarum (toxic black mould), doubtlessly responsible for the tenant’s many health problems.
Using our bloodhounding monitoring equipment, we were able to identify and quantify the source of the humidity and found a poorly maintained and faulty drainage system outside the property, the responsibility for which lay squarely on the shoulders of the housing association. The tenant has been reimbursed our fees, and after seeking legal advice has decided to take the housing provider to task over the personal injury experienced.
